Fashion Scandinavia at LFW

Zandra Rhodes says: “Scandinavian fashion is currently one of the most exciting trends to follow”

Scandinavia has long been forerunners of interior design and recently for their cuisine and TV thrillers, and now the fashion is taking centre stage and getting worldwide recognition.

London Fashion Week at Somerset House has been hosting Fashion Scandinavia with over 40 established and emerging labels and designers from Denmark, Norway and Sweden including Malene Birger, Day Birger et Mikkelsen, Ganni and Stine Goya.

To give you the full Nordic experience visit the Craftmen’s Lounge which features a display of  furniture by leading and iconic designers from the region as well as Scandinavian micro distilleries and Lilleø vineyard Noma commissioned winemakers.

Alongside the exhibition is the book launch Fashion Scandinavia: Contemporary Cool, written by Danish fashion stylist, Dorothea Gundtoft, which profiles 56 Scandinavian fashion brands.

“The book and exhibition, Fashion Scandinavia, heralds a new movement in fashion – the arrival of Scandinavian designers onto the world scene,” said curator Dorothea Gundtoft. “With attention to detail and high quality of materials that are so iconic in Scandinavian design, this will be the first and largest exhibition and showroom space at an International Fashion Week yet. On top of it, it will be presented at the centre of London Fashion Week – Somerset House. It’s a very exciting moment!”

If you do not have a chance to visit the exhibition in London you can find a range of the Scandinavian  designers and labels in Kakao by K

London Fashion Week

Alice by Temperley shows off a beautiful collection at London fashion week. Hitchcock’s heroine Tippi Hedren was the inspiration for Alice Temperley’s Autumn Winter 2013 collection, Byrds.

She showed off some amazing 60’s influences through the high-waisted  full skirts teamed with elegant  jumpers and sheer blouses as well as swing coats.  Temperley finished the show with amazingly decorated evening gowns. It is a collection which can only be loved!

Paris in the Snow

When I went to Who’s Next in Paris in January in search for exciting new brands for Kakao by K  I was so lucky that Paris was covered in snow, and what a pretty sight!

I wanted to share some of  the photos of Paris with you

Everything just looks prettier in the snow
